Kylie Mitchell is the gorgeous face behind the Brisbane Pride Festival and although she has a great support team, for many years Kylie has been the driving force of Pride.
Kylie is one talented Woman. With a background in the arts and a passion for performance, Kylie adds that extra something to the overall look of Pride.
Not many people would know how much work is needed in the lead up to the month-long event that is Brisbane Pride.
There is week after week of event coordination, negotiation and liaison with community groups, local council, licencing and the Queensland Police Service.
There are thousands of enquiries, budget limitations, hours devoted to program development and design, editing, checking and double checking, and of course dealing with the many unexpected hiccups – and that’s all before Fair Day even begins.
There are late nights, early mornings and many weekends of work, which to me represents a dedication beyond what most of us could conceive given that it’s all voluntary.
Kylie, your efforts haven’t gone unnoticed and all the events over Pride have been outstanding. Thanks for another fabulous Fair Day. Thanks for all you do for our community and thanks for being such an amazing woman who has given us all so much.
