| Tujiko Noriko |
Tujiko Noriko is the undisputed queen of Japanese avant-pop.
This is Tujiko's first visit to Australia in many years and she comes on the back of a swag of astounding new recordings that situate her at the very apex of contemporary avant-electropop from Japan. Over her many records for labels including the highly regarded Mego, Tujiko has carved away a uniquely spliced vision of divergent pop. She is consumed by washes of digital electronics, only to emerge again in the most elegant and sonically intriguing ways. Patrons please bring a pillow and/or blanket as seats will not be provided.
The Judith Wright Centre Performance Space, Wednesday August 20, 7.30pm. Tickets: $15 to $21. Bookings: 07 3872 9000 More information:
