    The Celluloid Closet
    Written by Ron Hughes

Successful actor Mitchell is about to make it big, except his “slight recurring case of homosexuality” is getting in the way of marriage, megabucks and superstar branding.

He’s ‘not gay’ – he just sleeps with men. One in particular: a rent boy called Alex (played by Nick Cook, pictured). This is the premise of The Little Dog Laughed, a biting satire on the celluloid closet, written by Douglas Carter Beane and directed by Michael Gow, which plays Brisbane from Monday, February 8.

The Little Dog Laughed: February 8-March 13 at the Cremorne Theatre, Queensland Performing Arts Centre (QPAC), South Bank. Tickets ($30-$60) from www.qldtheatreco.com.au or 136 246.
