Darren and Sharon Carpenter (played by Darren Mapes and Susie Dunn) are twins, born “six months apart”, from Kempsey in NSW. They never really fitted into life on the farm, and were hopeless at just about everything.

But one day they were fossicking around the basement and came across their Dad’s old vinyl records, the ones those “other Carpenters” made famous. Before long, they were singing along to all the favourites like 'Close To You', 'Yesterday Once More', 'Mr Postman', 'Top Of The World', 'Superstar', 'Goodbye To Love', 'Only Yesterday', and 'We’ve Only Just Begun'.

Darren and Sharon are truly country hicks - when they talk they’re from Kempsey, but when they sing they pay homage to the beautiful sounds of The Carpenters.
