When it comes to contemporary arts, ‘the Judy’ never fails to deliver. Check out the work of Brisbane’s emerging playwrights and performers at the Emerge Project double feature, which kicks off with a fascinating music-drama, Symphony in a flat, by five Brisbane playwrights and composer Bernard Houston. Following this is Ti Lian-Siew’s Generation Pizza, a warm family drama that explores cross-generational struggles. The Emerge Project double feature: Wednesday, June 24 to Friday, June 26 at the Judith Wright Centre of Contemporary Arts, 420 Brunswick Street, Fortitude Valley. More info and tickets ($12-$22) available from www.judithwrightcentre.com or on (07) 3872 9000. |
