Brisbane is a very photogenic city, what with the river, city skyline, South Bank and Storey Bridge. But it’s a more diverse, interesting, and sometimes – perturbing – place than the postcards might suggest, as the City Lens on Brisbane Streets shows. A view of the streets of Brisbane through the eyes of the city’s homeless and at-risk youth, this photographic exhibition is a collaborative venture between the Brisbane City Council and Mission Australia, produced under the guidance of renowned photographers Antoine Matarasso and Henri van Noordenburg. City Lens on Brisbane Streets: Tuesday, May 19 to Monday, June 1 in the Visy Foyer at the Brisbane Powerhouse, New Farm. Admission: free.
