The Rainbow Counselling Service – an LGBT counselling initiative of the Queensland Association for Healthy Communities (QAHC) and Relationships Australia Queensland (RAQ) – has achieved another milestone with a meeting at Maroochydore to discuss the commencement of Rainbow Counselling services on the Sunshine Coast. The organisations have confirmed that the Rainbow Counselling Service will commence operations on the coast in late February, with half a day of counselling to be offered each week from the local QAHC office at 10 Pikki Street, Maroochydore. The development means the Rainbow Counselling Service will have a presence in three Queensland cities – Brisbane, Cairns and the Sunshine Coast – in addition to the ‘Rainbow Representatives’ who have been trained in LGBT issues and are available throughout the state. For information or bookings, contact the RAQ Call Centre on 1300 364 277. Pictured from back left: Tim Spratling (QAHC), Sue Miller (RAQ), Kim Maver (RAQ), Katie Bishop (QAHC) & Steve Novak (RAQ).
