New Hampshire has become the sixth US state to approve same-sex marriage. The New England-area state joined Connecticut, Iowa, Maine, Massachusetts and Vermont last week after its Democract governor, John Lynch, signed a bill approving same-sex marriage, reported The Union Leader. The Reverend Gene Robinson, the Episcopal Bishop of New Hampshire, who is also the only openly-gay bishop in mainstream Christendom, said: “A lot of New Hampshire families have come to know people in their families who are gay ... that’s what really made this difference. We are no longer talking about an issue. We are talking about people.”
