Queensland Pride readers, advertisers and members of the local LGBT community are invited to the inaugural Meet the Press function at the Sportsman Hotel from 6pm on Thursday, September 4.
Dean Bell, general manager of Evolution Publishing, the publisher of Queensland Pride, said the function will allow the community to meet the team behind the magazine.
“It’s important readers and advertisers have a regular opportunity to talk face to face with us in an informal setting,” Bell said.
“It’s also an opportunity for readers and advertisers to interact with each other as well as contributors and writers, and encourage a vibrant exchange of ideas,” he said.

Bell said he would be a regular visitor to Meet the Press functions.
“Evolution owns papers across Australia, but Queensland Pride is a special one to us because my partner Mark and I grew up here and we both have families here, and now we have an extra good reason to come more often,” he said.
The Meet the Press functions will also raise funds for Open Doors Youth Service, he said.
