Actor Rupert Everett, seen here at the British premiere of his latest film, St Trinian’s, has upped his rhetoric against the film studios by comparing Hollywood to the Taliban and al-Qaeda. In an interview with the The Times, Everett said: “Hollywood is a place that pretends it’s very liberal but it’s not remotely. It’s like al-Qaeda.” Everett had previously blasted Hollywood’s attitudes toward gay actors in his memoir, Red Carpets and Other Banana Skins, saying he is often overlooked because of his sexuality. In St Trinian’s, Rupert plays a headmistress in drag.
