A flash game based on the 1969 Stonewall riots is to be released on June 22 to coincide with Gay Pride celebrations in New York.
It's designed by Eric Orner (The Mostly Unfabulous Social Life of Ethan Green) and Jay Laird of Metaversal Studios.
Drawing on the tradition of 'brawler' games, this is a chance for those who weren't there to relive the events of June 28, 1969, when, pissed off with the gay-bashing visits of local police, drag queens and patrons at the Stonewall Inn in Greenwich Village, New York, fought back.
Outnumbered, the police barricaded themselves inside the pub, while patrons fought police reinforcements outside. It was the start of the modern gay pride movement, with marches and demonstrations springing up around the world to warn straights that you should NEVER get between a queen and the bar.
