Team Aqualicious (QAL), Brisbane’s GLBTI swim team, has won the Queensland Branch Trophy for Club Aggregate Points at the AUSSI Masters Queensland Short Course State Swim & Club Championships held at the Noosa Aquatic Centre last month.
From being one of the smallest teams at the State Championships just two years ago in Cairns, the Aqualicious team of 38 swimmers represented the largest squad to enter the event and delivered performances that saw the team outrank all other clubs to take the coveted Club Trophy. Club President Ken Koh summed up the spirit of the team: “Aqualicious is made up of swimmers with a range of abilities. We relied on everyone to give their best to bring home 1st place – and they did! What I love about this team is that we cheer just as much when we win a race as when we come last; it is all about participating and giving your best. I am so proud of them all.”
