YAZOO (MUTE)
With the current liking for early 80s synthpop, it seems fitting that the legendary and highly influential duo Yazoo should share their comeback sounds with the world once again.
To celebrate their international tour (my friend in London scored tickets so I’m rather envious), Alison Moyet and Vince Clark have released this four-disc box set incorporating a feast of Yazoo moments, new and old.
Their two albums appear in fully remastered versions to set the benchmark, before a selection of brand new remixes adds new life to their trademark songs.
Guest makeovers from Andy Bell, Hercules and Love Affair, Koishii & Hush, and Club 69 to name but a few, inject contemporary sizzle to Alison’s rich vocals and Vince’s keyboard action. A DVD completes the set with the videos and rare live sets.
