THE PRESETS [MODULAR]
Last week I nearly had a conniption thanks to the incredible intensity of Cut Copy’s new album. And now this week it’s happening all over again with yet another Aussie act, their Modular stablemates, The Presets.
Oh my God, someone throw a bucket of icy water on me before I pop a vein from exhilaration.
Described as ranging from ‘expansive, emotive techno, to future pagan house and choral space funk’, Apocalypso ain’t the end of the world, it’s only a beginning. The Presets are putting Australia back on the global dance music map with these mystifying tribal grooves capturing the spirit and enormity of the urban jungle.
Turn this beast up real loud and annoy the shit out of your neighbours. The best thing of out Sydney since, um…Priscilla? The boy’s in love.
