In need of translation: Joss Mars (left) as Jeff and Luke Mitchell as Peter in Performance Anxiety.

The makers of Queensland’s first independent gay feature film, Performance Anxiety, are planning on submitting the quirky romance to queer film festivals worldwide.

But first they need someone who can help translate the script into French.

“One challenge for translating the existing English subtitles into French is the small number of double entendres,” producer Colin J Pearce told Queensland Pride.

Describing the film’s synopsis, Pearce said: “Jeff and Peter live together, but their characters are worlds apart. Jeff is a messy, hippy musician, while Peter is a tidy, almost obsessive office worker.

“As a couple, they struggle for connection. Their day leads them on unusual journeys with amusing consequences, drawing them towards a moment of truth.

“Peter is played by Luke Mitchell, who has been likened to James Dean with his smouldering looks and delivery.

"Brisbane’s top drag queen, Wanda d'Parke plays the landlord.”

Pearce said a copy of the DVD could be mailed to the translator to help put the script in perspective.

If you may be able to assist in the translation call Colin on (07) 3878 6303.
